As part of the Cambridge librarians’ visit to Oxford on March 28th, I gave a presentation with Naomi Herbert of Christ’s College, Cambridge concerning collaboration in Special Collections.
Naomi spoke about her research project on community engagement. Completing her questionnaire and taking part in a focus group really made me think about the different communities we have the opportunity to interact with as librarians and the variety of approaches we can take to outreach. It was one factor in encouraging us to start the Parker Library blog. Naomi’s blog is also worth reading.
My presentation, Collaboration in Special Collections, gives an overview of the past, present and future of collaboration between college libraries in Cambridge.
Laura Wilkinson of St Hugh’s College, Oxford has blogged a version of her presentation about her experiences of working at the Bodleian and at a college library.
