PANIZZI LECTURES

The 2014 Panizzi Lectures were given by Donnelley Fellow Librarian, Dr Christopher de Hamel. The first, on Monday 27th October looked principally at the Bury Bible, now in the Parker Library.

    Ever-fascinated by the subject of pages and initials cut out of medieval bibles, do you think there is any merit/possibility of trying to find out where our Ezekiel leaf came from? There can’t be many 12th century bibles of such large dimensions which could not be traced? (Or perhaps there are!) The Bodleian has the library of Duke Humphrey, and this might be a candidate?
